Welcome to SPF Guard ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
📋 Data We Collect
We request your device's GPS location to fetch the real-time UV index for your area via the Open-Meteo public weather API. Location is used only while the app is in use and is never stored on our servers.
If you use the Skin Analyser feature, you may grant camera or photo-library access. Your photo is converted to a compressed image and sent to the Anthropic AI API solely to generate a skin analysis. The image is not stored by us after the response is returned. Results are saved locally on your device only.
We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to collect anonymised usage data — screens visited, features tapped, and funnel events. This data cannot identify you personally and is used only to improve the App. No advertising identifiers (IDFA) are used.
Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation of subscription status to unlock Pro features.
Crash reports and basic device information (iOS version, device model) may be collected through Firebase to help us identify and fix bugs.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes.
🔗 Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Open-Meteo — public weather & UV API (no personal data sent). Terms
- Anthropic Claude API — processes your skin photo for AI analysis. Data is not used to train models per Anthropic's API policy. Privacy
- Firebase (Google) — analytics, remote configuration, crash reporting. Privacy
- Apple StoreKit — in-app subscription payments. Privacy
🗄️ Data Storage & Retention
All personal data (skin analysis results, routine progress, onboarding profile) is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. We do not operate our own servers to store your personal data.
Anonymised analytics data retained by Firebase follows Google's standard retention policies (up to 14 months by default).
Deleting the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
⚖️ Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict how we process your data
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
Since most data is stored only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly by deleting the App or its data in iOS Settings → SPF+ Sunglow → Delete Data. For analytics data held by Firebase, contact us and we will submit a deletion request on your behalf.
🧒 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
🔄 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
For significant changes, we will notify you via an in-app message.
